Ash-Shahil town in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside recorded high number of deaths from COVID-19 infection, as 7 people died from the virus in just three days, in addition to more than 100 infections. These numbers are high in comparison with the cases numbers recorded in other villages, towns and cities of Deir Ezzor countryside in just four days.
143 infections were recorded in Ash-Shahil in the past 4 days. Most of the cases belong to people from the town, and were as follows: (27 infections were recorded on 7 April, 37 on 8 April, 22 on 9 April and 54 on 10 April).
Following these infections, the Covid19 Center at the General Hospital of Ash-Shahil called on all people of the region in general and the people of Ash-Shahil in particular, to comply with the precautionary measures, avoid contact and gathering places that are risk environments for COVID-19, and take preventive measures like wearing masks, and washing and sterilizing hands all the time to prevent the virus outbreak.
Coronavirus has spread unprecedentedly in the areas of Deir Ezzor countryside (east of the Euphrates) over the past days, causing deaths and dozens of infections.
