A source told the Deir Ezzor 24 Network that National Defense (ND) militia patrols excavate ruins on the perimeter of the al-Tareef village, western Deir Ezzor, claiming to search for landmines.
The source added that the ND Commander Firas al-Iraqiyah supervises excavating ruins and bribes Assad regime’s officials and officers to turn a blind eye to looting ruins.
Deir Ezzor is rich with monumental sites of historic importance. Daesh, ND militia, and other militias affiliated with the Assad regime looted those sites.
