In the city of Deir Ezzor, which continues to struggle under difficult economic and living conditions, locals are finding creative ways to earn a living.
One such individual is Aboud Hammoud Al-Hawi, a young man who recently launched his own printing business, defying the harsh reality and proving that youth can innovate and create self-employment services, including custom printing on t-shirts and mugs, as well as the design and printing of decorative items for cars and motorcycles.
These services are relatively new to the local community, which is not yet accustomed to this kind of work.
What makes the project stand out is its artistic and creative nature. Customers can design their own products according to their personal taste, giving each item a unique identity and personal touch.
In an interview with DeirEzzor24 Network, Aboud spoke about the origins of his idea, saying it had been with him since childhood, as he was passionate about design and colors. Over time, he developed his skills through self-learning and by following educational content available online. He greatly benefited from free courses and video tutorials that explained printing techniques and the use of modern design software,helping him build a solid foundation and eventually launch his business in real life.
As for the challenges he faced early on, Aboud mentioned that the local community was unfamiliar with this type of work, which created a psychological barrier at first. Additionally, it was difficult to obtain the raw materials and necessary equipment due to their limited availability and high cost. However, he persisted, relying on his personal effort and some support from friends and close acquaintances, and was ultimately able to open his business.
Aboud noted that demand has been gradually increasing, especially among young people, who found in his project an opportunity to express their ideas and creativity through personalized designs on clothing and accessories. Mug printing has also become a popular gift option for special occasions.
In his message to Syrian youth, Aboud urged anyone with an idea or skill not to hesitate in taking the first step, stressing that small projects are the seeds of change and development, and that professional independence gives a person a sense of confidence and achievement. He also emphasized the importance of utilizing online resources, which have become an effective means of learning and gaining experience without the need for costly education.
Aboud Al-Hawi’s project serves as an inspiring model for the youth of the region, a message of hope that success doesn’t always require vast resources, but rather strong will, an open mind, and a heart that believes a dream can come true, no matter how difficult the circumstances.
