Sheikh Hasan Kheder al-Hawala, Abu Anas, was assassinated by Shiite militias in Hatlah town in Deir Ezzor during the last period, after arresting him for several months, sources revealed to Deir Ezzor 24 network.
In the details, the sources said that the Shiite militias arrested “Hasan Hawala” at the beginning of 2019, after he returned to Deir Ezzor, Hatlah town, to sign settlement with Assad regime, under the title “the reconciliation of the lion’s (Assad’s) den”, and on 20-1-2020, Assad’s forces announced his death. Informed sources told his family that he was killed under torture by Shiite militias, but Assad regime still does want to say which militia has killed “al-Hawala.”
Hasan Kheder al-Hawala was born in Hatlah in 1960. He held a bachelor’s degree in Arabic from Beirut University, and a master’s degree in Islamic studies. He was an Imam and preacher in many mosques since 1996, he knew Qur’an by heart.
He was arrested in 2018 by the Syrian democratic forces for four days and was released after being interrogated. Daesh arrested him in 2015, and released him after a period of time.
The sources confirmed to Deir Ezzor 24 network that Assad regime and Shiite militias have seized Hasan al-Hawala’s property after his death, while his wife and children are still pursuing the case in a try to get back something of what was confiscated.
