On Tuesday, August 11, 2020, a severe disagreement arose between the National Defense (ND) and the Hezbollah militias’ fighters in the city of al-Mayadeen. Both sides exchanged arrests.
The tension arose on the background of ND’ fighters arresting thieves who steal motorcycles and belong to the Hezbollah militia in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside. The thieves sell the motorcycles in the Homs governorate.
Tension still prevails between both sides in al-Mayadeen amidst a state of alert.
