Sources told Deir Ezzor 24 Network that Muhammad Sa’eed al-Hakim the Iraqi clergyman arrived in the city of al-Bukamal, eastern Deir Ezzor days ago.

Al-Hakim represents a Shiite authority. The sources added that the reason for al-Hakim’s visit is participating in celebrating the Muharram month according to the Shiite beliefs.

The sources emphasized that al-Hakim met Iranian and Syrian figures over the past two days, amidst austere security measures in al-Bukamal, especially in the Jam’iyat neighborhood.
