Russian military convoys entered Deir Ezzor city in the past two days from Raqqa countryside, Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent said.
According to the correspondent, heavy weapons such as artillery guns, anti-aircraft guns and troop carriers were deployed to several Russian barracks in and around the city.
A source told Deir Ezzor 24 network that the Russian forces will carry out a large-scale campaign on Daesh pockets in Deir Ezzor badiyah, as Assad’s forces and the Iranian militias have failed to eliminate them during the past campaigns.
The Russian forces lost a number of its officers and members while accompanying the militias and Assad’s forces in the military actions they carried out in Deir Ezzor badiyah.
