Exclusive:
Sources told Deir Ezzor 24 that the Russian forces recruit young men in the city of Qamishli in the al-Hasakah governorate.
The sources added that the Russians recruit the young men upon contracts to guard oil facilities for six renewable months. The contracts stated that the recruits will have a month (from the six) paid leave.
Each recruit will receive $300 per month, as they will in advance receive $1,800 which is the salary for the six months. By the end of the contracts, recruits will receive $200 as an end of mission reward.
The sources added that the Russians offered the recruits priviliges such as laser cards (issued by the Assad forces) that protect them from arrest if they refrained from compulsory recruitment.
The Russian forces conducted internal and external recruiting campaigns in Deir Ezzor, as the Russians transported hundreds of young men from Deir Ezzor to fight in Syria.
The Russian forces have been trying to attract young men of eastern Syria for a year and a half to get them involved in Russia’s military project in Syria. The Russian forces tempted the young men with money amidst deteriorating economic conditions in most Syrian areas.
