Life for the besieged civilians in Deir Ezzory city has changed for the worst since the start of battles between both ISIS and regime on Friday, 15, 2016. The town of Al-Bughayliya, which is under ISIS control now, has been the only route from which food was smuggled into the besieged city of Deir Ezzor. Al-Bughayliya was also a crucial source of vegetables, as there are agricultural lands on its outskirts, for the besieged civilians in Deir Ezzor.
According to the latest info received, ISIS still controls the town of Al-Bughayliya, the northern part of the arms depots, the hill of Al-Hajif; and Al-Sai’qa camp, with regime holding Al-Ruwad associations, Al-Jazeera private university, the southern part of the arms depots, and the water plant.
It should be noted that Furat Al-Sham hotel has been heavily damaged after a group of ISIS militants detonated their explosive belts inside it during a suicide operation carried out two days ago. ISIS’ continuous shelling from the other side of the Euphrates River is also a cause of its damage.
