The Raqqa Health Directorate immediately responded to a complaint filed by a citizen regarding the disparity in drug prices between a number of pharmacies within the city, stressing that oversight measures had been taken to verify violations and ensure consumer protection.
The details of the case go back to an official complaint filed by citizen Omar Ahmed Shaaban, after he noticed a clear difference in the price of the medicine prescribed to him from one pharmacy to another, which prompted him to return the medicine and go to the Health Directorate to demand follow-up and redress for the matter.
The head of the Drug Control Department, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Issa, explained that a specialized investigation committee began its work immediately after receiving the complaint, to verify the circumstances of the incident and monitor any possible violations, stressing that the directorate will take the necessary legal measures against any party proven to be involved in price violations.
For his part, the Director of Raqqa Health, Dr. Abdullah Al-Hamoud, stressed the importance of the role of citizens in supporting oversight work by reporting violations, noting that complaints contribute to detecting and addressing the defect, which is reflected in the stability of the pharmaceutical situation and ensuring justice in drug pricing within the governorate.
