On Thursday, tension rose between the National Defense (ND) militia and the Usud al-Sharqiya militia in the city of Deir Ezzor.
The tension rose after disagreements among the militias’ fighters in the al-Umal neighborhood in Deir Ezzor about distributing loot. The tension turned into clashes, injuring ND fighters.
The militias closed the neighborhood after the clashes, as reinforcements of both sides arrived in the area amidst tension for late at night.
The Usud al-Sharqiya is an informal militia mostly composed of fighters from the al-Shaitat area, eastern Deir Ezzor. The militia fought with the Assad forces in Deir Ezzor under the pretext of retaliation against Daesh.
