DeirEzzor24 exclusive report:
DeirEzzor24 network has monitored an increase in kidnappings of people from Deir Ezzor and the eastern region while traveling towards Lebanon.
The correspondent of DeirEzzor24 network said that kidnappings are carried out for the purpose of paying the ransom, and most of them were recorded on the Homs-Beirut road, which travelers use to avoid passing through the checkpoints and departments of the Assad regime.
Our correspondent added that 7 people from Deir Ezzor (we reserve their names for the sake of their safety) went missing 5 days ago, as contact with them was cut off after the Homs refinery within Syrian territory, and it is likely that they were kidnapped, but so far no one of their relatives has been contacted to request the ransom.
It is worth noting that about a month ago, travelers from Deir Ezzor province were kidnapped by an armed gang in Homs Governorate. At that time, the kidnappers demanded a ransom of $4,000 for each person.
