The informatics engineer, “Khadija Al-Daghim” from Deir Ezzor, died in the “Salama” Hospital in the Al-Maliki neighborhood in Damascus. Her mother , Huda Zarzour, confirmed that the death was the result of a medical error, holding the medical staff responsible for that.
Mrs. Zarzour confirmed to one of the media that her 26-year-old daughter was admitted to the hospital, without any preparations, from the necessary analysis and pressure measurement, in conjunction with the power outage in the hospital, noting that her daughter was given a uterine relaxant, to deliver her newborn within about an hour, she came out of the delivery room bluish and her pupils dilated, which made her husband confirm that she was clinically dead.
After unsuccessful attempts on the ground, due to the lack of an equipped care room or a resuscitation doctor, “Al-Gagim” was transferred to another hospital, to confirm her death and permanent brain shutdown.
The family of the deceased submitted a complaint to the hospital, which gave them a medical report denying that the death was due to a medical error, in light of the doctor and officials ignoring the condition of the deceased’s family.
