A joint delegation consisting of figures belonging to Assad regime, and officials of the Shiite association Imam al-Mahdi visited al-Mayadeen city east of Deir Ezzor on Saturday, August 29, according to Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent.
The correspondent said that the delegation was headed by “Ali al-Kazimi”, an official of the Iraqi Hezbollah militia, and “Majida al-Mousawi”, head of Nasrat al-Hussein campaign’s media committee.
The correspondent added that security was increased significantly as the delegation visited several residential neighborhoods. Some figures of the delegation distributed Shiite banners and sweets to residents.
The delegation made its visit at a time the Shiite militias in different parts of Deir Ezzor are commemorating the anniversary of Al-Hussein’s death according to Shiite beliefs.
