ISIS still controls Al-Bughayliya despite the regime has been attempting to retake it since the town fell to the group’s hands. Moreover, ISIS has recently advanced against regime positions and succeeded in gaining full control over Al-Sa’iqa military camp, buildings of Aljazeera Private University, and Ayash arms depots, situated west the town of Al-Bughayliya.
On the other hand, heavy clashes continue between ISIS and regime forces on the outskirts of al-Ruwad associations, which are still under regime control, and on the western outskirts of Brigade 137. ISIS also continues to target regime-held Tel Al-Hajif, where regime forces are besieged, with heavy artillery. In addition, dead bodies of ISIS members, killed in the ongoing clashes against regime forces, have arrived at ISIS-run hospitals in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor.
It should be noted that a sandstorm has swept Deir Ezzor province, making it easier for ISIS to advance in the region as the sandstorm has hampered airstrikes.
