The Water Resources Directorate in Raqqa Governorate continues to carry out extensive field maintenance work on pumping stations and irrigation canals, as part of its efforts to improve the efficiency of water facilities and ensure the continuity of water access to agricultural lands.

The work included the maintenance of several vital sites, including the Ghannam Canal and the Al-Balikh Canal – Shenina 2 site, in addition to carrying out insulation work for a 150-meter section, which contributes to improving water flow.

The technical teams also implemented specialized treatments in the main canal in the village of Kasra Muhammed Agha, in addition to treating the LSM1+US7 sites and the KM14 regulator, and treating the cavities in the US7 canal regulator.

Regarding the pumping stations, the evacuation system at the first Al Wedyan station was put into operation, the Al Yamamah station was put into operation, and the check valves for the first and second pumps were rehabilitated. The works also included welding fractures in the propulsion pipes within the Al Swaidya station, which enhances pumping efficiency and service stability.

The Directorate confirmed that the pace of work is continuing intensively, with the aim of ensuring the regular delivery of irrigation water to farmers, which supports the agricultural process and contributes to enhancing food security in the area.
