Today, Dr. Amjad Badr, Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, accompanied by Mr. Ghassan Al-Sayed Ahmad, Governor of Deir Ezzor inaugurated “Al-Buleil Pastures” dairy and cheese factory in the town of Al-Buleil in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, according to a aDeirEzzor24 Network.
Our correspondent reported that the project is supported by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and aims to develop local livestock production and promote the food industry in the governorate, contributing to the improvement of the economic and rural landscape.
This project comes as part of joint efforts between the government and international organizations to advance the agricultural sector and provide new job opportunities for the local population, in a move intended to improve living standards and stimulate the economic cycle in rural Deir Ezzor
During the inauguration ceremony, the Minister and the Governor toured the factory’s departments, reviewed its operational mechanisms, and listened to explanations from workers about the production stages and the support provided by the FAO to livestock breeders. The delegation also met with several women participating in field schools supervised by the organization, who shared their experiences and the benefits they gained in terms of developing their skills and improving their economic and social situations.
In a statement to DeirEzzor24 Network, Mohammed Al-Omayer, Executive Director of the “Unlimited Development Association,” explained that the association took part in preparing for the inauguration upon the invitation of the FAO office in Deir Ezzor, noting that this collaboration reflects a constructive partnership between civil society and international organizations in supporting local development projects.
The opening of the Al-Buleil Pastures factory is considered an important step toward enhancing self-sufficiency in the dairy and cheese sector and encouraging investment in rural food industries. It opens new prospects for advancing the agricultural economy in Deir Ezzor Governorate and highlights the importance of supporting initiatives that contribute to achieving sustainable development.
