For the past few days, Deir Ezzor province has experienced a wave of extreme heat, because of which the people’s demand for ice has increased significantly, especially with the lack of electricity in several rural areas of the province.
In light of this crisis, the price of an ice block rose to more than 2,000 Syrian pounds in several areas of Deir Ezzor, because of which people have been worried as they so much in need of ice especially in this month of fasting, in addition to the high prices of ice and the extreme poverty experienced by people.
What makes the matters worse is that the Iranian proxy militias, the national defense and Assad’s forces get the largest quantity of ice, which causes a daily crisis and makes it difficult for people to get ice.
It is indicated that electricity has been absent from large areas of Deir Ezzor for years, and Assad regime has not solved this big problem that hinders the progress of life at all levels.
