DeirEzzor24 exclusive report:
With the start of the winter season for this year, fertilizers are still absent from the Agricultural Bank in Deir Ezzor, knowing that the duty-free shops are full of them, according to what the DeirEzzor24 network monitored.
Our correspondent said that the prices of fertilizers on the black market amount to 105 thousand Syrian pounds for a bag of “earthy” fertilizer and from 200 to 250 thousand for a bag of “urea”.
He added that the merchants who supply fertilizer for the black market are among the merchants who have strong relations with officials of the Assad regime.
The Russian company, “Stroytransgaz”, had taken over the fertilizer plant in Homs since 2018, with long-term contracts that were accompanied by depriving Syrian farmers of one of the most important elements of agriculture.
