DeirEzzor24 exclusive report:
Families from the city of Deir Ezzor, who live in dangerous buildings, according to the estimates of the Safety Committee of the Deir Ezzor City Council, refused to evacuate them despite the warnings, according to the correspondent of DeirEzzor24 Network.
He added that the families’ refusal to vacate their homes was due to their inability to live in other houses with high rents, and the failure to secure shelters that would provide them with a decent life.
The province of Deir Ezzor had instructed all technical offices in the city and municipal councils to inspect the cracked buildings after the recent earthquakes and to evacuate them from their residents pending consideration of their demolition.
The rate of destruction in most of the neighborhoods of the city of Deir Ezzor exceeded 80% in the neighborhoods of Al-Huwaiqa and Al-Rushdia, while most of the inhabited and dangerous buildings are located on Port Said Street, especially in the Pullman Garage area.
