A demonstration occurred this afternoon, Saturday 21-9-2019 near the factories area and Al-Salhiyah town north of Deir Ezzor, Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent reported.
According to the correspondent, hundreds of people from Deir Ezzor staged a protest today, demanding the the Assad’s forces and Iranian militias leave the eastern Euphrates areas.
Community sources told Deir Ezzor 24 network that today’s demonstration came as a result of the popular anger over the killing of two young protesters by the Assad’s forces during yesterday’s demonstrations, and also because the Assad’s forces advanced towards the vocational training bridge at the entrance of Al-Salhiyah town, set up new checkpoints near the auction centre, and brought reinforcements from the Iranian militias and the Assad’s forces, in response to the incidents that followed yesterday’s demonstrations.
In turn, the Syrian democratic forces (SDF) closed all roads leading to the factories area from Maezila, 113rd Brigade, Al-Azbah, Al-Matahana and al-Shihabat.
A state of tension and popular anger prevailed the area amid calls from activists and protesters on the tribal leaders to pressure the Syrian democratic forces ( SDF ) to regain control of Al-Salhiyah town as soon as possible and expel the Assad’s forces and the Iranian militias from it.
