DeirEzzor24 Network met with the Syrian swimmer, “Ibrahim Al-Hussein,” from the city of Deir Ezzor, to talk about the last world championship in which he participated in Spain, and the following was the conversation.
Al-Hussein began his speech by saying: “I achieved fourth place in the World Cup championship that was held in the Spanish city of Icaronia last week, with the participation of 80 competitors.”
He added, “The race is divided into three stages, the first in the field of swimming, in which I excelled, and I achieved second place, seconds behind the first-place finisher, and then we proceeded to the second stage of the race, which is cycling, and I also achieved second place, to reach the third and final stage, which is running, and in it I made a mistake.” For a minute on the track after I lost the right way to score fourth, also seconds away from the third-place finisher.
Al-Hussein concluded that he will continue training and preparations to participate in the upcoming tournaments and achieve better numbers and results.
And “Ibrahim Al-Hussein”, born in Deir Ezzor in 1989, lost his right leg due to Assad’s forces in 2011, after which he immigrated to Turkey and from there to Greece and began to regain his energy, to participate in many Paralympic tournaments and write his name as one of Deir Ezzor’s ambassadors to the world.
