Daesh launched two attacks in Deir Ezzor; the first attack targeted a convoy of the 17th Division with explosive devices on Al-Shoula-Kabajib road in the southwestern badiyah, while the second attack targeted outposts of the National Defense Militia (NDF) and Liwaa al-Quds in the western badiyah of Deir Ezzor.
The attacks also affected positions in al-Masrab badiyah in addition to al-Aarouss and Al-Madhul position. As a response, Assad’s forces shelled the source of the attack with heavy artillery and anti-aircraft cannons.
The attack resulted in the killing of two members of the NDF militia and the wounding of others from Liwaa al-Quds, amid alerts and requests for reinforcements to the sites. Such skirmishes between Daesh cells and Assad regime’s militias are recurrent in the region.
