Deir Ezzor 24 exclusive:
Daesh activities have recently increased in Deir Ezzor’s eastern countryside, targeting operators of oil wells and owners of tankers. They threaten them with severe consequences if they do not pay them royalties.
In the context, Daesh cells burned some oil wells and tankers belonging to people who refused to pay royalties, as they burned an oil well near the Al-Sajjan field east of Deir Ezzor after its operator refused to pay the royalty imposed on it by Daesh cells.
The organization also relied, for its sources of funding, on imposing royalties on the river crossings that have recently been suspended, Most of the money they seized was stolen by the organization’s emirs.
