The spokesman for the International Coalition (Colonel Myles) commended the efforts of Deir Ezzor’s people in general, and al-Shaitat tribe members in particular, in fighting and defeating Daesh.
He expressed this in a tweet in Arabic on his Twitter account:
“The people of Deir Ezzor in general and Al-Shaitat in particular made enormous sacrifices in the fight against the terrorist organization of Daesh, then the Syrian democratic forces came to help the people of Deir Ezzor and the other areas eliminate this organization. “We continue to stand with the people of Deir Ezzor and support them in their issues.”
The international coalition spokesman’s tweet coincided with the sixth anniversary of the 2014 massacre committed by Daesh against Al-Shaitat people. The U.S. Embassy in Syria also released a statement yesterday recognizing the massacre anniversary.
