An intensive air campaign is being carried out by the coalition mainly in the main cities in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, on top of which are Al-Mayadin, Al-Bukamal, Muhassan and Al-Quriyah, in addition to the heavy bombardment on the center of the city of Deir Ezzor, which is happening regularly.
Yesterday, the coalition executed airstrikes targeting an area located on the outskirts of the Tayibah Wa Al-Maaharufah village, which consists of the house of the civilian ‘Abdul Hamid Idriss Muzzil’ that was turned into a prison by Daesh where many fighters from opposition factions, including FSA, Nusra Front and others, as well as dozens of civilians were imprisoned.
The airstrikes on that prison have resulted in dozens of civilian casualties and the killing of two prison guards, in addition to the wounding of ‘Madin Al-Mutlaq’, a Daesh interrogator who has played a role in the arrest and execution of dozens of locals since Daesh took over the province.
The house was owned by a former commander, also an official of economics, of the ‘Nusra Front’ named ‘Abdullah Al-Naimi’before the arrival of the organization in the province. The fate of that commander remains unknown since his arrest by Daesh which took place in the year of 2014.
The prison has been turned into dust and several houses nearby it sustained extensive damages due to the violent strikes, which pushed the residents in that area to leave for elsewhere.
We should not forget that the organization gained control over that house in 2014, and since then it has used it as a prison where it jailed all those who had fought against it in Deir Ezzor. Sometimes, the prisoners would be transported to other prisons, and sometimes they would be executed.
