In the past few days, the Assad’s forces have sent a group of fighters from Deir Ezzor to support the Assad’s forces in the battles of the northern Hama countryside.
According to D24 correspondent, the shabbih Firass Al-Iraqiyeh, the leader of the National defense militia in Deir Ezzor, was at the head of the group.
Our correspondent noted that the number of the elements who were sent to the northern Hama countryside is between 250 and 300 elements who were taken from the countryside and the city. He added that most of the elements are from the National defense militia in Deir Ezzor province, and that they carried their personal weapons “Kalashnikovs” and anti-aircraft weapons with them.
It is indicated that the National defense Militia in Deir Ezzor is composed of informal armed elements, a proxy militia of the Assad’s forces, known for being Shabbiha who have been intimidating civilians in the city under the leadership of Firass Al-Iraqiyeh.
