Assad regime sends tribal and military figures to Al-Bukamal to study developments in eastern Euphrates

On Thursday, August 20, pro-Assad regime tribal figures and the commander of the newly established military council visited Al-Bukamal city east of Deir Ezzor, Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent said.

A source said that the delegation met with local commanders of the 47th Regiment militia to discuss several issues, including the recent events in the areas controlled by the SDF and the international coalition.

According to the source, the meeting focused on finding suitable reliable people who can provide consultations and support to Assad regime’s cells in the eastern Euphrates areas.

The meeting is part of several activities Assad regime has carried out since demonstrations took place in the eastern Euphrates areas following the assassination of Sheikh Muttshar al-Hifil and a number of tribal figures.
