Sources told the Deir Ezzor 24 that the Assad regime planted cells of security branches in the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and International Coalition-controlled areas in Deir Ezzor
The sources added that the State Security branch was the most in empowering these cells, as it contacted armed groups in areas east of the Euphrates in Deir Ezzor and agreed with them to implement orders assigned by the branch command.
The sources emphasized that among the cells are fighters in the SDF ranks. The sources added that it was agreed that the groups be ready to conduct security missions, assassinations, and sabotage to create security chaos in the area aiming at promoting the Assad regime to sustain security in the area.
Military groups have been formed to this aim in the western Deir Ezzor countryside, the Abu Khashab badiya, and al-Hasakah countryside.
