Yesterday, Monday 28-10-2019, Assad forces inaugurated an iron bridge over the Euphrates River linking the east and west of the Euphrates to each other in their areas of control in Deir Ezzor, Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent said.
According to our correspondent, the inaugurated bridge connects al-Merayiah town in Al-Shamiyah region (west of the Euphrates) to the town of Hatlah in Al-Jazeera region (east of the Euphrates) years after all bridges in Deir Ezzor province were destroyed by Assad’s forces, the international coalition, and Daesh.
It is indicated that the bridge itself was destroyed by the International Coalition aircraft in 2017.
It is worth mentioning that Assad’s forces control several towns and villages east of the Euphrates, including Hatlah, Marrat, Al-Husseiniyah, Khsham, Tabiya and Al-Salhiyah, which thousands of protesters from Deir Ezzor have been demanding the expulsion of Assad regime from them, while Assad regime seeks, through this bridge, to connect these villages with its areas of control on the other bank.
