On Sunday, August 16, the International Coalition held a series of meetings with SDF leaders, including the General Military Commander of the SDF (Mazloum Abdi) at al-Omar field base east of Deir Ezzor.
The international coalition held the meetings throughout the day, with military commanders of the SDF, the leadership of the Deir Ezzor Civil Council represented by Dr. Ghassan al-Yousef and the Directorate of Development and Coordination (DCC). It also held individual meetings with important figures of Deir Ezzor. The U.S. State Department participated through its political office in the direct meetings.
The security and administrative situation of Deir Ezzor was at the forefront of discussions. The international coalition assured its continuing support for the different security bodies, the Local Democracy Coordination Council and the Tribal Leadership.
This meeting of the international coalition with the SDF leadership and administrators of Deir Ezzor is part of a series of meetings and efforts the international coalition made after the recent events in Deir Ezzor.
