The story “ An Almost Impossible Dream” by the writer “Youssef Khalif Al-Mashhadani”, who is from Deir Ezzor, was chosen as the best short story in the monthly stories corner on the air, on Monte Carlo Radio, in cooperation with the Kuwaiti cultural magazine Al-Arabi.
And the story bears with its rural features wisdom and lofty meanings and hope in life. Critic Dr. Mohsen Al-Ramli says that the writer excelled in describing the rural environment with all its scenes, place, time, environment and social relations.
The writer explained the devastation that befell his city, and what caused his frustration and loss of hope in recovering the city’s past, and ends the story with the inherited wisdom that says that life must go on despite everything.
