Aerial Intelligence groups defect in eastern Deir Ezzor

On Sunday, October 11,2020, clashes erupted between the National Defense (ND) militia and the Aerial Intelligence in the town of Mahkan, eastern Deir Ezzor.

The clashes lasted long as members stationed at checkpoints defected from Aerial Intelligence and joined the ND. One of these checkpoints is the al-Jawiya checkpoint at the water purification plant in al-Quriya.

Riverine crossings stopped working due to the clashes in the area.

A day before the clashes, clashes erupted between the two sides near the suspension bridge in the city of Deir Ezzor.
