Yesterday, Sunday, a convoy of displaced families from the city of Al-Quriyah arrived in their homes in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, after years of displacement in the Jarabulus area east of Aleppo, according to a correspondent for DeirEzzor24 Network.
Our correspondent said that the convoy, which included dozens of cars and three buses loaded with residents, arrived in Deir ez-Zor yesterday evening after hours of travel and a breakdown in the Al-Sukhnah area in the Homs countryside.
He added that the convoy was received by the Governor of Deir Ezzor, Mr. Ghassan Al-Sayed Ahmed, along with a number of media professionals from the province. The governor welcomed the returnees with a speech that began by saying, “Deir ez-Zor is only populated by its people.”
This is the second convoy to return to the city of Al-Quriyah, thanks to the efforts of the city’s residents as part of an initiative to transport displaced people from outside Deir ez-Zor to the city at their own expense.
