DeirEzzor24 exclusive report:
A Russian officer arrived in Deir Ezzor from the Hmeimim base in Latakia, last Tuesday, in conjunction with the protests in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, according to a private source for DeirEzzor24 Network.
The source said that the Russian officer held extensive meetings with notables and sheikhs of the areas under the control of the Assad regime at the headquarters of the Russian Reconciliation Center in the town of Hatla, northeast of Deir Ezzor, and also met with the security committee.
He added that the so-called “Abdullah Al-Shalash,” the head of the Russian-Syrian reconciliation in Deir Ezzor, described the officer’s visit as having no new decisions and to no avail.
The villages and towns of the western countryside of Deir Ezzor are witnessing protests against the Deir Ezzor Military Council, accompanied by movements by Assad’s intelligence and Russian forces to exploit the protests.
