DeirEzzor24 exclusive report:

DeirEzzor24 network correspondent said that with the onset of Christmas and New Year’s Eve, the Assad regime’s checkpoints began asking residents for unspecified sums of money in the name of (Eidiya).

He added that all the checkpoints deployed at the intersections of cities, main streets and river crossings in the areas controlled by the Assad regime in Deir Ezzor governorate demand these royalties.

Security checkpoints and Assad’s forces are now imposing royalties on the people of Deir Ezzor under different names, the last of which is called “New Year’s Day”.
