The subbranch of the Judicial Police in DeirEzzor Province has started its first inspection tour to regulate exchange rates at currency exchange offices and ensure compliance with the official rates issued by the Central Bank of Syria.
The campaign, launched in cooperation with the Diplomatic Security Protection Branch, included inspections of several exchange offices and local markets, aiming to curb the spread of illegal currency trading and address financial violations.
During the tour, authorities also prohibited street vendors and some commercial shops from engaging in currency exchange activities without a license and removed signs and advertisements related to currency exchange.
Officials explained that this campaign will be followed by additional inspection rounds in the coming days, as part of efforts to organize the financial sector and enhance the stability of the local market in Deir Ezzor.
