The Deir Ezzor City Council, along with a delegation from the UN Development Programme (UNDP), carried out a field visit to the city’s damaged markets to assess the damage and determine the main needs for rehabilitation.

The visit covered the covered market (Souq al-Maqbi) and the commercial area in the city center, where UNDP plans to rehabilitate the central market in the near future to help revive trade and boost economic recovery in the area.

This step comes as part of the ongoing cooperation between government bodies and international organizations to restore infrastructure and improve key public facilities across Deir Ezzor Governorate.
