The area surrounding the “Old Departure” service garage (karaj al-sarafis in Deir Ezzor city has witnessed a noticeable gradual return of commercial and industrial shops, particularly in the back area, in recent times.
A correspondent for DeirEzzor24 Network reported that dozens of commercial shops and restaurants have begun reopening in the garage area.
Mohammad al-Ra’ed, the owner of one of the shops in the area, confirmed that residents are still unaware that commercial activity has resumed behind the garage, which has led to low commercial traffic there.
Among the businesses that have reopened after remaining closed throughout the period of the former regime’s control are car repair workshops, restaurants, grocery stores, and shops serving hot drinks.
Shop owners emphasized the need for the concerned authorities to provide facilities and investment opportunities for project owners in this area, in order to restore life to it fully.
