DeirEzzor24 exclusive report
Relief aid arrived in Al-Mayadeen yesterday through the Red Crescent and was distributed through mukhtars, according to a reporter of DeirEzzor24 Network.
Our reporter said that the Red Crescent organization stipulated to the mukhtars that priority should be given to families of volunteers in the Assad forces in the distribution process.
He added that the distribution process is carried out by registering the names of the beneficiaries and their families’ information with the mukhtars, but the distribution mechanism is not based on the needs assessment, but rather on the level of loyalty to the Assad regime and its security services, in addition to the families of volunteers in the Assad forces and militias.
He pointed out that most mukhtars humiliate civilians and force them to stand in lines for long hours, and some are postponed until the next day after insulting them with obscene words.
It is worth noting that Assad’s forces and the Iranian-backed militias seize all aid and assistance within the areas under their control west of the Euphrates, and usually distribute it to their members or their families without civilians, and in some cases they distribute the remaining aid to a small number of needy people.
