DeirEzzor24 exclusive report:
Peasants in areas controlled by the Assad regime in Deir Ezzor were shocked while receiving wheat bills from the Agricultural Bank in Deir Ezzor city, according to a correspondent for DeirEzzor24 Network.
Our correspondent said that the reason for the shock was the exchange of the price of a kilo of wheat between 1,400 and 1,600 pounds only, noting that the price set by the Assad regime is 2,800 pounds with the marketing reward.
He added that this decrease in price came under the pretext of classifying experts in the crime rate in the Euphrates Center in Deir Ezzor, as the classification is subject to nepotism and the payment of bribes, regardless of the quality of wheat.
It is worth mentioning that citizens’ complaints to the governor of Deir Ezzor did not succeed, as samples are replaced in the laboratories of the Marketing Center with samples filled with soil classified as impurities.
The amount of discounts in the price, which exceeded half, is estimated at millions of pounds, amid pressure and security monitoring of the compulsory marketing of wheat, and the future reluctance of farmers to grow it.
