A reporter of Deir Ezzor 24 Network said that the Secretary of the Baath Party branch in Deir Ezzor, “Raed Al-Ghadhban,” gathered yesterday a number of residents of the town of Al-Mariya, east of Deir Ezzor, who had resided in the town and had returned for two years.
He added that “Al-Ghadban” gathered these people and called on journalists and photographers to announce the return of the people of Hawija Al-Mari’iya after an absence of ten years.
All the lands of Hawija, amounting to 1,800 dunams, have been leased to farmers from outside the town at a price of 60,000 Syrian pounds per dunam, and for a total amount of more than 100 million pounds for the entire 2023 season, despite the objections of the towns people and their complaints submitted to the governor and the Political Security branch in Deir Ezzor.
