A patrol of the Political Security attacked members of the National Defense Militia, near the Al-Suway’iya Bridge, near the eastern entrance to the city of Al-Bukamal, according to the correspondent of DeirEzzor24 network.
Our correspondent said that the patrol arrested the officers at the checkpoint and beat them after they found boxes of smuggled smoke in their car to be brought to Al-Bukamal.
He added that the patrol asked the officers to hand over the smoke, but they refused, so joint security patrols confiscated the smoke and arrested two members of the National Defense Militia.
The city of Al-Bukamal is a hotbed for smuggling operations carried out by the militias present there, with all kinds of smuggling, tobacco, drugs, sheep and others.
