Well-informed sources told the Deir Ezzor 24 Network that on Tuesday, the General Commander of the Liwa al-Quds militia who is known as al-Cameroni survived an assassination attempt while on a tour with the military Commander al-Haj Muhammad Amer al-Bakran from the Aleppo governorate. Both commanders were on a reconnaissance tour in the sectors in al-Shula badiya, al-Sukhna, and Kabajeb.
The sources added that an adhesive bomb was placed in al-Cameroni’s car. The bomb exploded, injuring him and killing the military commander of the militia.
The sources noted that the al-Baqer militia is involved in targeting al-Cameroni, as the militia tries to get revenge on the al-Quds Liwaa militia , cut their supplies, and leave them a prey to Daesh in al-Badiya. The Liwaa al-Quds militia’ fighters are accused of thefts and robberies against headquarters of other militias.
Al-Cameroni is loyal to the Russians, as his fighters escort the Russian forces in combing operations. The Russian forces directly supports the Liwaa al-Quds militia, and Russian security companies train the militia’s fighters.
The al-Baqer Militia that is accused of targeting al-Cameroni deploys fighters to neighborhoods in the city of Deir Ezzor and the villages of al-Tabbiya, Khasham, Marrat, Hattla, and al-Husainiyah, and the city of Aleppo and its countryside, where the militia was first founded.
