Social media outlets reported that Ali, Firass al-Jaham’s son, succeeded in the secondary school exams due to the position of his father Firass al-Jaham, who is known as “Firass al-Iraqiyeh”, one of Assad regime’s men in the region and the leader of the national defense militia in Deir Ezzor.
Social media outlets had earlier monitored a dispute between student “Ali Al-Jaham” and an invigilator who prevented him from cheating. And because of that Ali got low marks, but in the supplementary exams, he took the exams of physics, mathematics and chemistry again, and got high marks through favoritism as many corrupted persons try to serve his father to benefit from his position.
Bribery, favoritism and abuse of official position are widespread in the areas controlled by the national defence and pro-Assad militias, who live from illicit gain and the abuse of official position, and use their influence to achieve personal interests.
