On Saturday, October 10, 2020, the Autonomous Administration General Council issued a general amnesty for crimes committed before October 10, 2020 in Northeastern Syria.
The Autonomous Administration posted the details of the amnesty on social media
The amnesty included six major rules, as each one had sections.The most prominent rules are:
The first rule of the amnesty came under offence and delicts. The rule stated cancelling the entire custodial penalty in offence and delicts.
The second rule came under offence. The rule stated the replacing of life imprisonment with temporary imprisonment for 20 years, and exempting half of the temporary imprisonment penalty and the entire penalty of sentenced people suffering from incurable diseases.
The third rule addressed the exempting of those the amnesty included. Those people are perpetrators of treason and spying crimes, perpetrators of honor murders, rapists, perpetrators of drug trafficking and promoting crimes, commanders, emirs, and trainers of terrorist organizations, and fighters involved in battles and explosions, and the rest of people sentensed for terrorism cases and who experts proved not elegible.
