The deserters of military service in Deir Ezzor turned themselves in to the military security branch after Bashar al-Assad, the regime’s head, issued a general amnesty.

The members who turned themselves in will be transferred to the military police branch, which will subject them to various types of systematic torture and blackmail them to get money, about 1 million pounds from each member, to transfer them to another branch.

It is not the first time that Assad regime has broken its promises, as it, with Russian support, has used to make reconciliations with the elders and dignitaries of the region to tempt the deserters and evaders of military service to turn themselves in, then it imprisons them or even kills them.
