On Sunday, September 13, 2020, a source told Deir Ezzor 24 that Russian forces, the Assad forces’ 5th Corps, and the al-Quds Liwaa militia deployed to the al-Shoula area in al-badiya, southern Deir Ezzor.
The source added that the Russian forces deployed to the area amid helicopters’ flying over, as the forces established checkpoints in major roads in the area.
The source noted that the Russian ordered the al-Quds Liwaa militia to remain in the area and establish guarding posts to secure the southern flank of Deir Ezzor from Daesh attacks.
Recent attacks on the Assad forces’, Russian forces’, and Iranian militias’ outposts caused the forces to raise the alert.
