A source from inside al-Assad Hospital in Deir Ezzor told Deir Ezzor 24 network that the number of Covid 19 infections is increasing significantly in the province amidst failure of Assad regime’s health sector in dealing with the pandemic.
The source added that 4 new cases, 2 from inside the city and 2 from Al-Ishara city in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, arrived at the hospital on Wednesday, September 9. After testing positive, the cases were transferred to the quarantine center in the university housing units near the hospital.
A chaotic situation prevails Deir Ezzor’s hospitals, as doctors and nurses do not care about the preventive measures. Which makes the situation worse is that the hospitals suffer from the absence of many types of essential medicines, the lack of qualified medical personnel, and the spread of corruption among the administrators and officials of the health sector.
