Deir Ezzor 24 has received exclusive information and photos showing digging for artifacts in the desert of Daman area in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside.
According to a special investigation carried out by Deir Ezzor 24, locals of the Daman area, east of Deir Ezzor, have recently been digging for artifacts, using old-fashioned ways.
The digging is carried out by an experienced groups, they dig the Jewish and Roman tombs and the like, in order to reach valuable artifacts.
The groups were able to find three tombs, two of which contained bone remains, the third with gold earrings, a gold leaf, and a genuine sapphire stone.
The photos obtained by Deir Ezzor 24 show valuable artifacts, a gemstones in different colors and types, as well as ancient remains.
According to a local who was digging for artifacts, and preferred to remain unknown, told Deir Ezzor 24 network that the lack of job opportunities and the spread of unemployment in Deir Ezzor countryside pushed him and a group of his friends to dig for artifacts.
He pointed out that the digging was carried out in an uninhabited area, and out of the public eye, fearing accountability and prosecution by local authorities in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside.
It is noted that the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside has recently witnessed extensive digging for antiquities and precious artifacts, especially the areas of Al-Bukamal countryside, as well as Al-Daman area east of Deir Ezzor.
